Child-Focused Careers in Psychology:
Coffee & Conversation
November 17, 2017
Children spend the majority of their time in schools, and academic and behavioral success is crucial. With a firm ground in both psychology and education, School Psychologists are uniquely positioned to support children in achieving their full potential and to build relationships between families and schools. In 2017, US News and World Report ranked school psychology as the #1 best social service job with the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicating a 20 percent growth in the profession expected by 2024. During this session, PCOM Psychology faculty will discuss careers and educational pathways in school psychology and applied behavior analysis. Examples of skills taught in the programs will be included. The time will be geared toward an open discussion with abundant question and answer opportunities. Light refreshments will be provided.
